Fred Wang, MA, LMHC
Fred is a former, aspiring performer turned Licensed Mental Health Counselor. His practice is informed by four principles: supporting a purposeful life, treating the whole person through an integration of mind, body, and spirit, awareness and acceptance of the present experience, and evidence-based practice. He believes that health and well-being are not only about fixing a problem, but about sustained commitment to living a meaningful life.
He graduated with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University, and earned his second Master’s degree in Psychology from Antioch University Seattle where he is currently completing his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He is also designated as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) by the International Association of Trauma Professionals as well as a Certified Mental Health Integrated Medicine Provider (CMHIMP) by the Mental Health Integrative Medicine Institute.
Fred has extensive experience supporting children, teens, and adults through their relationship with distress, regulate, accept, and befriend intense emotions, improve mind and body health, and identify their direction in life. In order to provide the best possible care, he integrates and may utilize multiple modalities of mind and body therapies to meet each person’s individual needs. His professional training focused on holistic health psychology and working with a person’s mind, body, spirit, and social contexts. In addition to more traditional talk therapies, Fred also utilizes biofeedback to work with the body’s mechanics of stress and health.
