Joanne is a Mental Health Counseling intern at our Redmond Medical Center clinic who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. She works with adolescents (13+), adults, and couples to support wellness towards living a purposeful life. Joanne is a Masters in Counseling Psychology student at Bastyr University working to gather hours toward LMHC licensure under the supervision of Dr. Frederick Wang.

Having previously worked in environmental sciences, Joanne takes an integrative approach that includes the body and mind and environmental factors that contribute to lived experience.

Joanne’s passion is working in topics related to life transitions such as immigration, divorce, finding life purpose, as well as life challenges such as questions about cultural identity, disabilities, chronic pain, and end-of-life inquiries. In her free time, Joanne regularly leads Zen meditation practices, writes classical music, and is an avid sailor and mountaineer. Joanne holds a Ph.D. in Forestry from the University of Washington. She is also comfortable providing services in English and Chinese (Cantonese).
