Julia is a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate at our Redmond Medical Center clinic who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. She earned her M.A. in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Drama Therapy, from Antioch University Seattle. Julia works in collaboration with her clients, holding a safe space for their processes of discovery, change and healing. Her approach is humanistic, client-centered and strengths-based. She encourages clients to claim ownership of their therapeutic process, as the physical and emotional experience of self-advocacy in therapy is effective and healing. Julia employs empathy, witnessing, unconditional positive regard, embodiment, imagination, play, movement and art.

Julia applies a systemic lens to her work as she believes that each person is doing their best within their own contexts of family, community and society. Julia meets every client as a unique and multifaceted person who comes with exclusive experiences; in other words, no two people are exactly alike. Julia is trained in drama therapy technique, an embodied therapy process which can enable powerful transformation. This technique helps clients gain new perspectives on past experiences, past and current relationships, and on themselves.

Julia does art/play therapy with ages 4-18 and individual or couples work with adults (25+). She has experience with the LGBTQIA+ community, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression and dissociative identity disorder. Julia is also an actress and you might occasionally spy her in the guise of a zombie killer, policewoman, med tech or mom on your TV. In her spare time, she loves to make meals for loved ones, get out into nature, and make art.
