Gerald is a provider at our Federal Way clinic who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. He has over 30 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and family counseling. His counseling style draws upon a variety of evidence, direct, and strength-based approaches utilizing empowerment, motivational interviewing, encouraging others toward change, growth, and healing. These approaches include, but are not limited to: Family Systems, Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Psychosocial Assessments. He is culturally competent and has strong ability to work with a variety of individuals’ presenting problems including but not limited to: depression, PTSD, anxiety, phobias, anger management, marital and family issues, intimacy issues, pre-marital counseling, couples counseling considering separation/divorce, custody, child and adolescent issues, addiction/chemical dependency, criminal system, grief and loss, and life transitions.

Gerald graduated in 2008 from the University of Washington with his Master’s in Social Work. He received his undergraduate Degree in Sociology and Criminology from Western Washington University. He is also experienced working with the adult and geriatric population and Home Health, Palliative Care, and Hospice. Gerald worked with high-risk youth for the Department of Washington Juvenile Rehabilitation. He also worked with the Department of Children Family Services in Washington and for the Department of Economic Security in Arizona, working with children, adolescents, and families. He has experience in serving the underserved population of all ages struggling with chronic mental health, criminal, and chemical dependency issues.

Gerald currently works with clients ages 16+.
