Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Paula is a provider at our Redmond Medical Center clinic who provides psychiatry services in-person and via telehealth. Paula received her training in nursing and advanced practice psychiatric nursing from Columbia University in New York City where she completed both a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and a Master’s of Science in Nursing. She is also a member of the academic honor society, Sigma Theta Tau. After her training, she returned home to Seattle.

Paula has been in practice as a psychiatric nurse practitioner for 20 years. She has a special interest in the full spectrum of anxiety disorders including OCD, Panic Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. However, her passion is working with people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She also very much enjoys working with ADHD.

Prior to her nursing education, Paula earned her first undergraduate degree in Political Philosophy from Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Her coursework culminated in a thesis on the work of Walter Benjamin, and she jokes that she somehow is also a member of the academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa. Paula believes that her extensive academic experience, along with her love of international travel, including to Southeast Asia, India, Europe and Scandinavia, have profoundly impacted her work with patients in her psychiatric practice.
