MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR
[ ANDERSON PARK | limited openings ]
Rachel is a mental health counselor who, in 2012, earned her M.A. degree in Integral Counseling Psychology through the California Institute of Integral Studies. Integral Counseling draws upon the major traditions from the East and combines them with the practice of psychotherapy from the West. This includes combining mindfulness and eastern philosophies with depth-oriented psychologies such as psychodynamic, humanistic, family systems, and transpersonal.
She works with adults, young adults, and adolescents. Other areas of focus include clients identified as LGBTQIA+. She provides counseling for the treatment of depression, anxiety, panic, stress-reduction, life transitions, low self-esteem, trauma, and family and relationship difficulties. She has gained additional training in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, HeartMath® Certified Practitioner in Biofeedback, Process Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
Her philosophy is person-centered as she strives to partner with each client and support them in identifying and releasing the constrictions to their natural state of well-being. Within a caring and warm environment, she assists clients in developing insight into how their personal experiences, beliefs, and behaviors relate to their mental health. She enjoys empowering individuals with skills they can use for additional support between therapy sessions. Overall, Rachel believes that each person has the ability to obtain personal well-being and a desired quality of life.
