Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow
Benjamin is a provider at our Federal Way clinic who provides psychology services in-person and via telehealth. Ben completed his doctorate in clinical psychology at California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Diego. As a postdoctoral fellow, he provides psychotherapy and psychodiagnostic testing under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.
Ben practices client-centered, trauma-informed psychotherapy in a collaborative, supportive, and practical way. He believes a helpful and successful therapy relationship is rooted in trust and affirmation and is deeply committed to building such a relationship with his clients. His primary therapy modality is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) emphasizing the pursuit of a full, meaningful life and the reduction of suffering through the cultivation of mindfulness and acceptance-based skills.
Central to Ben’s approach is a recognition of the unique biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors that create context for each client’s strengths, challenges, and concerns. Ben emphasizes the interconnectedness of body and mind in all facets of his work. This focus has led him to integrate trauma-focused perspectives from modalities such as somatic psychology, internal family systems (IFS) in his clinical practice.
Ben’s areas of clinical practice include chronic pain, chronic medical conditions, trauma, PTSD/complex PTSD, depression, anxiety, stress, geropsychology, and ADHD with a focus on behavioral management of adult ADHD. Ben works with adults aged 18 and up.
