Postdoctoral Psychology Fellow

[ REDMOND MEDICAL  |  limited openings ]

Dr. Kate Castaing is a postdoctoral Psychology Fellow who provides therapy services to individuals ages 13+ under the supervision of Dr. Holley Kaskel and Dr. Charles Carr as she works toward gaining hours for independent licensure.

She graduated with a doctorate in clinical psychology from Pacific University where she completed her dissertation on the risk and protective factors of eating disorders in women and young men. Dr. Castaing has had clinical experience working with children and adults with ADHD. She has received training in exposure and response prevention (E/RP) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) to work with individuals with severe anxiety. She spent her pre-doctoral internship providing therapy to individuals, couples, and children from diverse backgrounds and identities who presented with concerns including anxiety, depression, adjustment, trauma, substance abuse, and relationship difficulties in a public health environment.

Dr. Castaing uses an integrative approach to therapy that focuses on the unique needs of each client. She implements CBT, mindfulness, and interpersonal processing in a non- judgmental environment to help clients use their strengths to achieve their goals. She believes in meeting clients where they are to make meaningful change. Dr. Castaing is particularly interested in working with clients with anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, and relationship distress, as well as those who are new to therapy and unsure of the process.

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination”- Carl Rogers
