[ REDMOND MEDICAL  |  limited openings ]

Fred is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with children (10+), adolescents, adults, and families to support wellbeing, improve resilience, and overcome the ordinary and extraordinary challenges that may be present. His approach to therapy is integrative, science-based, and relational in nature, and seeks to draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques to best adapt to each person’s experiences. Fred is working to gather hours toward independent doctoral licensure under the supervision of Dr. Holley Kaskel and Dr. Michael Kippes.

His work is founded on a belief that emotional and physical wellbeing is an issue of equity and justice. He believes that good care is founded on an integration of certain key principles: supporting a purposeful life; treating the whole person in mind and body; awareness and acceptance of present experience; recognition and management of environmental and contextual factors; and utilization of evidence-based practices.

Fred completed a Masters of the Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University and a Master of the Arts in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University where he is currently working on completing his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. He has worked clinically in a variety of healthcare settings, including community mental health, primary care clinics, school-based clinics, and private practice clinics.

As a former aspiring actor and musician, preschool teacher, and music teacher, Fred has a knack for integrating his past experiences with his current practice. He is also well-versed in various aspects of geek and nerd cultures and brings these into his therapeutic relationship to help develop relationships and provide a collaborative, down-to-earth approach in his work.

Fred has extensive experience and enjoys working with: LGBTQIA+ individuals, neurodiversity, ADHD, behavioral management, health-related behaviors, family-of-origin concerns, anxiety, depression, and trauma. In addition to more traditional therapeutic techniques, Fred is also trained and experienced in providing biofeedback and psychological assessment.
