Licensed Mental Health Counselor
I started my career working with adults in the community mental health setting. I worked with individuals struggling with mood disorders and psychosis and trauma symptoms to resource challenges and other social needs and addictions. As I’ve moved into a private practice type of setting, these types of issues for clients may have shifted some but all folks want at the end of the day is to be heard, validated, and supported.
Everything I do is with a Person Centered or Client Centered focus. I want all my clients to know that they are being heard, validated and supported. I have training in EMDR, IFS, DBT, Movational Interviewing, and Humanist Therapy. Yet if clients don’t like therapy, they don’t want to do the work.
For me, as a clinician and a person, it’s important that the therapy is working. I also try to bring humor to session and a little of myself to room. I feel it’s important to be authentic to the process.
