Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate | Fee-for-Service Therapist

Leia is an Associate Mental Health Counselor at our Anderson Park clinic who provides therapy services both in-person and via telehealth. She received a Master of Sciences in Clinical Mental Health from Capella University and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University. Originally from the Sunshine state, Leia is proud to call the Evergreens her new home. Leia is a strong believer in the power of Rumination-Focused CBT while also utilizing Solution-Focused and DBT during her treatment. She does not shy away from an integrative model that combines aspects of multiple theories. This approach provides relief and clarity of ruminating and troubling thoughts while promoting a renewed sense of self-regulation for her clients. In Leia’s words, My clients often tell of how they would never treat a friend or family member a certain way yet do not instill that same level of empathy towards themselves. I want my clients to be in a space where empathy isn’t solely nurtured outwardly but inwardly as well.

Leia’s initial experience in the mental health field focused primarily on the LGBTQ+ experience specializing in gender affirming care. Her experience ranges from teens up to adults, multicultural backgrounds, and neurodiversity as well. Leia was awarded an AASECT scholarship in 2024 to support her pursuit of better understanding sexuality and mental health. She prides herself in bringing modern research and fresh perspectives to her clients.

True to her name, Leia is a Star Wars fanatic. She makes time for sci-fi, poetry, historical fiction and her love of all things coffee related. Leia is excited to meet all of her clients and learn more about opportunities to support them in their journey towards finding wellness.
