Licensed Mental Health Counselor
I work with clients who may be struggling with challenges related to cultural identity, immigration transitions, relationship issues, career change, finding life purpose, disabilities, chronic pain, and end-of-life inquiries. In our initial sessions, we will work together to understand the issues at hand, define how you want your life to look like, and find an approach to get you there.
I use Emotionally-Focused Therapy as a starting point to understand how you relate to people and your environment. I believe emotions are an intelligence that the body is trying to communicate something to us. Mindfulness and somatic techniques help us listen to the body. From there, we work together to find your true voice, and the right actions that are in accordance with your values.
Currently accepting new clients children (13+), adolescents, adults, and families to support wellbeing, improve resilience, and overcome the ordinary and extraordinary challenges that may be present. Life is full of challenges, and we don’t have to face them alone. Therapy can help you find clarity and navigate through difficult times. This may look like understanding your situation, noticing repeated patterns in your life that stand in your way of getting your needs met, and finding new ways for you to engage with the world that brings possibilities instead of roadblocks.
I believe that good care is founded on an integration of certain key principles: supporting a purposeful life; treating the whole person in mind and body; awareness and acceptance of present experience; recognition and management of environmental and contextual factors; and utilization of evidence-based practices.
I offer services in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) for those who may experience depression, anxiety, trauma, self-doubt, relationship issues, grief, or simply challenging life transitions. My approach is honest, collaborative, strength-oriented, integrative, and effective. I look forward to meeting with you.
