Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Ijeoma Unini earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing and is a nationally certified advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP), specializing in psychiatric mental health. She has been in the healthcare field for more than two decades. In her professional experience, she had the opportunity to care for individuals of all genders and across the life span, including children, adolescents, young adults, and older adults. She has practiced in different healthcare settings both in and outside of the United States and found mental health issues to be a unique problem everywhere. She also worked as a registered nurse/charge nurse in an inpatient mental health facility, which allowed her to gain the expertise necessary for the management of symptoms of bipolar disorder, depression, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, and schizoaffective disorders.

Ijeoma’s care for her clients is individualized according to each person’s specific situation, preference, and best available evidence-based care option. She works with each client as a partner in their treatment decision-making, prescribing of medications (where applicable), and ensuring they are well informed. Ijeoma’s goal is to empower each client to achieve optimum mental health and their highest healing potential.
