Associate Social Worker

I am a clinician at our Northgate clinic who offers therapy services!
My ideal client is one who is open to change and self-exploration and who is willing to expand their understanding of themselves, those around them, and what they are capable of. I am drawn to clients who may feel stuck in their life, searching for the key to unlock the potential they know is there. My goal is to help them find it. I imagine the human experience is like a box full of stuff, some of it useful, some of it not so much. Together, we can open that box and sort through it all, thanking and letting go of what is no longer serving you, holding onto what is, and adding new tools and perspectives to continue to promote growth and healing.
As a Master’s level Social Worker, I come with foundations in social justice, systems theory and strengths based practices. I am goal and solution oriented with experience in motivational interviewing and task centered models. What this means is that I collaborate with my clients to identify their personal goals, and then work backwards to find ways to achieve those goals through small sustainable steps. When barriers to growth and change arise, we work together to identify and overcome them. I also have experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and crisis intervention models.
Though I grew up in Los Angeles, I have called Washington home for about eight years now and I have found I prefer the moody rainy days of the PNW to the perpetual sunshine of the SoCal coast. In my free time I love creating music, riding my bike, attending live shows, volunteering in the community, and reading sci fi novels.
