Social Worker
Hi, I’m Mike Bandow, a social worker and therapist in Renton with experience in inpatient, outpatient, and correctional settings, including addiction treatment through my VA fellowship in Seattle. I work with clients ages 18 to 100, with concerns ranging from anxiety and depression to personality and psychotic disorders. My approach is person-centered — people already have the capacity to change, and my role is to help them get there. I also bring skills in behavioral, mindfulness, and trauma-informed therapies. You can expect to be met where you are and supported as you move towards being the person you envision.
I believe you’re the expert on your own life — my job is to walk alongside you. You set the pace and direction, and I bring curiosity, respect, and steady support. Whether we’re working through anxiety, substance use, a serious mental illness, or something harder to name, I trust you already carry what you need to move forward.
Whatever you’re carrying, no matter how excruciating, overwhelming or impossible it may seem, finding someone to talk with about it is a great first step. I’ve sat with people in some of their hardest moments. I’d be honored to be that person for you.
