Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate
I am a clinician at our Federal Way clinic who provides therapy services!
My ideal client may be in their teens, 20s or 30s and they are navigating becoming an adult and finding their way in the world and wanting to understand themselves better. Or they are an adult navigating a life transition such as grief or loss or relationship struggles. They have some self-insight and are motivated to change and grow but may be struggling with issues such as low self-esteem, managing stress, anxiety, depression, overwhelming emotions or relationship struggles. They may be coming to terms with a difficult childhood and navigating complex trauma. They are seeking therapy for support with managing their symptoms and also are interested in building awareness of themselves and their values as well as healing wounds from childhood and negative beliefs about themselves and the world and to find a greater sense of self-worth, agency and wholeness.
I work with teens and adults throughout the lifespan, focusing on issues such as self-esteem, relationship issues, childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, grief and loss, and navigating life transitions. Some of the modalities I use include person-centered/humanistic therapy, attachment-based therapy, somatic therapy, mindfulness-based therapies and parts work.
I work with clients on building self-awareness and self-compassion through learning mindfulness skills and compassionate witnessing. I teach clients how to work with their nervous systems through somatic techniques and teach mindfulness tools for increased awareness and working with triggers. Together, we identify client’s core values and what matters most to them and seek to understand and build tools to work through what is getting in the way of living in alignment with them.
I believe true and deep healing takes place when we can share ourselves and our hearts openly and are fully witnessed and held without any judgement. I also believe that the therapeutic relationship is paramount to healing and provide a warm, empathic, person-centered approach to therapy, meeting you with deep compassion and respect wherever you are at on your life’s journey. Utilizing a mindfulness-oriented, holistic lens, we will address your well-being at the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual levels. Together, we can work to increase your self-understanding and self-compassion and resolve unwanted patterns and limiting beliefs. Through the therapeutic process, I will help you access the depth and wisdom of your emotions and your body and reconnect with your authentic self and what is meaningful to you.
