Licensed Independant Social Work Associate
Cristina Speer is an Associate Independent Clinical Social Worker currently working towards independent licensure. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Portland State University and a Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University. She has worked primarily with children, adolescents, and families providing individual and group psychotherapy in community mental health, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization settings.
Cristina practices from a person-in-environment framework to integrate the intersectionality of the individual, familial, cultural, and social factors to best understand her client’s lived experience. She uses a holistic approach to best suit the client’s needs, pulling from the modalities of CBT, DBT, ACT, and TF-CBT. Additionally, play therapy and art therapy techniques are woven through treatment to encourage self-expression and emotion regulation. She practices trauma-informed care and strives to provide a safe, affirming, and respectful environment for all clients.
Cristina has experience in working with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, suicidal ideation, and trauma. She currently works with children (6+), adolescents, and their families.
