Reema is working towards her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University under the supervision of a LightHeart licensed supervisor. She approaches mental health from a wellness perspective, whilst recognizing the impact of social and cultural influences on people’s lives. Her goal is to collaboratively work with individuals to build resilience, emotional health and deepen insight. She supports individuals as they seek to understand their identity and navigate challenging life transitions. Her work is informed by neurocounseling, attachment theory, psychodynamic principles, behaviorism, and multicultural counseling. 

Reema is passionate about empowering clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, and bipolar disorder. This may be through the use of diagnosis, assessments, and psychotherapy, as appropriate, but also through identifying patterns of behavior that may no longer serve them. Though change can feel daunting, it can be empowering, especially when the client is in charge. Reema is fluent in both English and Urdu/Hindi, striving to provide a safe and accepting environment in which clients can make meaning of their life experiences, and build a life that aligns with their values, culture, and identity.
