Mylene is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate who earned her MA in clinical social work from University at Albany in New York and a bachelor’s in psychology at Le Moyne College. She has experience with clients across all age groups and needs. Her prior work involves helping adults through life transitions as well as children, adolescents and their families with understanding and adapting to behavior change techniques. She is currently working toward independent licensure under the supervision of Jerry Carmichael, LMHC.
She is trained in Evidence Based Practices, using a holistic approach with clients to see every individual as a whole and take into account what each person believes is the most important. She prefers to use CBT, DBT and ACT techniques to help people effectively understand their situation, confidently practice new skills, and create meaningful change within their own lives.
She takes a person-centered approach with her clients, acknowledging each client’s needs based on their individual life experiences, beliefs, strengths, and challenges from their environment. Mylene currently works with children (11+) and their families, teens as individuals and focuses on anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, effective communication, emotional regulation, behavior change, and life transitions.
