Maeghan Mitchell, MEd, LMHCA

Maeghan Mitchell is a Nationally Certified Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Therapist. She received a Masters in Community Counseling from Seattle University. Maeghan is equipped with the skills and context to be an advocate for those in need. These skills include counseling techniques and specializations, client case management and assessment, knowledge of diagnosis, multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity, and social justice training. Maeghan’s education, professional and volunteer experience, and technical training have ignited a passion for her to be a vessel of hope to those in need.
Maeghan enjoys working with any age group and has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in both clinical and school settings. She has experience working through various concerns with clients such as anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, ASD, ADHD, grief, parenting, existential or spiritual understandings, life transitions, group therapy, exposure therapy, play therapy, and familial conflict. Maeghan considers herself to be eclectic, pulling from a variety of theories to best cater each client’s unique needs. When appropriate, she utilizes CBT, MI, Mindfulness, and Narrative approaches to address client concerns. She offers feedback, reflection, practical tools to increase coping and self-care skills, and helps guide clients through developing plans to address certain behavioral or relational complications.
Maeghan believes building a strong therapeutic alliance is crucial to the healing process. She creates a warm and safe environment where clients can share their story; this way true progress, empowerment, and transformation can occur. She collaborates with clients on treatment goals in order to meet individual, relational, or family needs. She provides authenticity, positive energy, respect, candidness, humor, exploration, and care.
