Gena Azar, MA, LMHCA
[ accepting new clients at Redmond Medical Center ]
With a master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, Gena works from a Relational Psychology model which is founded on the belief that we are transformed through relationships.
Gena sees children, adolescents, and adults integrating various modalities, including Psychodynamic theory. She views the counseling process as a partnership in the exploration of unconscious motivations and patterns of behavior, promoting a greater self-awareness and sense of self at any age.
While much of Gena’s post graduate and Licensed Mental Health Associate experience has been in with children addressing challenges such as anxiety, depression, ODD, and family dynamics, she also has experience with anxiety, depression and trauma with adolescents and adults. She also offers parent coaching as a part of her work with children as her counseling process is deeply informed by her experience as a mother.
