Qiuyi (Carol) is a third-year Clinical Psychology doctoral student at Antioch University Seattle. She provides psychotherapy and assessment services to individuals under the supervision of Dr. Bonner Dobbs, a licensed clinical psychologist. She moved from Beijing, China, to Seattle six years ago for her undergrad at the University of Washington and can speak both Chinese Mandarin and English fluently. This experience highlighted her cultural sensitivity and competency.
Carol hopes to provide unconditional support to her clients from a client-centered perspective and is committed to combining evidenced-based therapy and strength-based approaches. She believes that individuals are experts in their lives and have the potential power to resolve temporary difficulties. She prioritizes clients’ welfare and tailors the treatment models to individuals’ situations flexibly to promote positive changes. Carol utilizes techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in a direct style and is trained in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). She also integrates skills from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Humanism, Narrative therapy, Systemic views, etc.
Carol works with clients around various psychological concerns, particularly anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and life transition difficulties.
