Bobbie Winter

MASTER’S INTERN COUNSELOR
[  REDMOND MEDICAL| accepting new clients  ]

Bobbie is a counseling psychology intern completing the final year of her master’s program with Bastyr University and is working to gather hours toward graduation under the supervision of a licensed LightHeart supervisor.

She works with individuals of any gender or identity to support their wellbeing and help them find more balance, resilience, and joy in life. She welcomes working with you in person or via telehealth. Taking a holistic approach that considers the emotional, cognitive, physical, spiritual, and societal intersections in our lives, she works with you to craft a counseling experience that honors your unique circumstances, goals, and values. Bobbie strongly believes that you are the expert on what you want and need and sees her role as providing the resources and support to help you clarify and achieve your goals. Her therapeutic approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), feminist theory, and family systems.

Bobbie supports people in building resilience while navigating life changes and challenges, and in dealing with the anxiety, depression, grief, anger, stress, and relationship issues that can result from them. She collaborates with you to identify the patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are currently showing up in your life, and how you might want to change them to live a life more in alignment with what you truly value.

While she works with many types of clients, Bobbie is especially aware of the needs of caregivers. Whether you are caring for children, parents, or those with physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges, she recognizes the difficulty in balancing care giving responsibilities with self-care and the pursuit of your own goals. With 25 years’ experience in the Seattle area technology industry, she also has a clear understanding of the challenges that arise while trying to balance a strong drive to succeed with the desire to live a value-based life outside of work.

She is a member in good standing of both the American Psychological Association and the American Counseling Association.
