Matt Mancuso, M.S., LMHCA
Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate
Matt Mancuso earned his Master’s in Counseling and Psychology from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama in 2020. He operates from a combination of systems, gestalt, and cognitive-behavioral models of psychotherapy, which focus on increasing self-awareness in the present moment. These techniques aim to ease psychological suffering due to faulty beliefs acquired over the course of our lives within the context of a safe therapeutic environment. Matt utilizes evidence based practice techniques for their effectiveness and flexible applications within a therapeutic relationship.
Matt’s primary experience has been with culturally diverse youth between the ages of 6 and 18 in both individual and group settings. He has experience offering psycho-education and emotion processing in groups and also has experience with conduct disorder, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Matt currently sees individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults.
Matt believes psychology is more than just a therapeutic tool and finds that applying both the principles and techniques of psychology to everyday life often helps makes life more interesting and manageable. We are often held back by the limits we impose upon ourselves; and thus Matt’s hope is to help release these limitations and help his clients find their way back to themselves.
