Karen is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with children and families to recover from trauma, attachment difficulties, anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties, and low self-esteem. She believes in using a non-judgmental, warm, and person-centered approach to meet each child and family’s unique needs.

Parenting children with emotional or behavioral needs can feel overwhelming especially while dealing with life’s many other demands. Karen is passionate about helping support children, adolescents, and families to develop strong, healthy attachments, and connections to others.

She is trained in and uses therapeutic modalities that include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and basic Sand Tray techniques.

Karen holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Social work from New Mexico Highlands University and a Bachelors in Economics from Whitworth University. She has spent most of her career in social work working with children, adolescents, and their parents in outpatient and school-based settings.
